The Immunity Syndrome?

Can't touch this...

I know I'm not the only one to wonder how this person gets away with the things he does and says. How did the President become untouchable? No other president since Nixon has tried to lay claim to "presidential immunity" as the current POTUS has.

The US Constitution does NOT have any explicit provision for "presidential immunity", yet the departments that are responsible for law enforcement, mainly the Department of Justice, have a "policy" of not prosecuting anything against a sitting POTUS. It's not a law, it's a policy. They could go after him in a minute, and they know it.

The POTUS is supposed to represent the best of our nation, yet he holds these rallies where his speeches contain little more than talking points that have no fact or truth behind them, sloganeering, outright hatred, and unvarnished racism. How long before he becomes so emboldened to use graphic racial epithets? Would his base even flinch?

The latest atrocity is his comments aimed at four freshman Congresspersons: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who are all women of color. In his tweets, he stated that they should "go back where they came from"(paraphrased).
The exact phrasing isn't any better.

To most, this would be interpreted to suggest none of the Congresspersons were from the U.S.A., let alone are citizens. Three of the four were, in fact, born here and the fourth came to America with her family as a child, later to become a citizen. This is the point: these four women are all citizens and were elected to their positions. This meant nothing at a rally on 17/7/2019 in Greenville, NC, where the crowd chanting "Send her back!". Trump went to the old "Love it or leave it" trope, which again got the crowd of 8.000 to cheer again.

This is America?

One must remember that this the same man that was dropping clues about his personality for years, yet this didn't derail his train to the White House. Hell, look at John Dean; one moment of exuberance killed his campaign, yet it seemed that nothing...NOTHING...could stop Trump's campaign. Bill Clinton was impeached (not removed) for lying about a blowjob, yet Trump seems to lie every time he speaks, and...nothing happens.

YEEEEAAAAHHH!! You're out.

I'm 50 years old. I've been raised to believe that no-one is above the law, and that the President is supposed to be the model to represent the U.S.A. in the Global arena. I will admit that there was a time when I didn't vote based on Party, as there were Republicans that worked for the people as much as Democrats. This is not longer the case. I voted for George H.W. Bush in my first election, though I didn't agree with some things he did. I voted for Clinton both times as I felt he was the better choice. I voted Green during the George W. Bush period as I couldn't vote for anyone the Dems offered. I voted for Obama both times, as I felt he was the one to get the nation back on its feet after the disaster left by the Bush era. I voted for Hillary last time, though I would have voted for Satan just to keep Trump from getting in.

I haven't ever liked Trump. This is a man who has had everything handed to him in life, and believes he can get away with anything without consequence. This needs to change. The President cannot be allowed any form of legal immunity or lack of consequence for his speech and/or actions.

For our future, for our Democracy, for our Nation, this man must be impeached and removed.
